Why we exist
For people tired of cheap stuff
Everywhere we went, it was the same story: different city, same artwork.
Same fonts. Same silhouettes. Same tourist-trap designs with different skylines slapped on.
PDX Decal is our answer to that. We build bold, detailed designs on
UV-laminated, outdoor-grade vinyl that’s meant to live on your gear — not in a drawer.
- Decals, minis, and future gear all follow the same rule: if it feels flimsy, we don’t sell it.
- Everything is Portland-tested — rain, sun, commute, trail, and the occasional bad decision.
- If it noticeably fades, cracks, or peels in under a year with normal use, we’ll make it right.
We’d rather sell fewer things that last longer than chase volume with stuff that falls apart.
Where the vibe comes from
East-coast grit. West-coast flavor.
I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay — countryside, back roads, and D.C./Virginia city energy all colliding.
Later, Portland added the mountains, rain, and culture.
PDX Decal lives where all of that meets:
- Rugged outdoors from the coast, trails, and mountains.
- City influence from street gear, neon, and night lights.
- Global culture from traveling and paying attention to what actually looks good in the wild.
The designs won’t be for everyone — and that’s the point. If you like your gear a little louder and a lot more
intentional, you’re our people.
How we build
Premium first, everything else second
Whether it’s a full-size decal, a Raindrop Mini, a magnet, or future hats and jackets,
the standard doesn’t change: it should feel overbuilt, not disposable.
- UV-laminated vinyl decals designed for 5–7+ years of real outdoor use when installed right.
- Adhesives chosen to stick hard when you want them to — and come off clean when it’s time.
- Future gear (like hats, clothing, accessories) will be hand-picked or custom-built to last, not just look good in photos.
Year-One “This Should Not Fail” Promise
Normal use only — no burnouts, no pressure-washer murder-tests.
If something legitimately fails early, we’d rather replace it and fix the problem than pretend it didn’t happen.
What we will / won’t do
Some lines we don’t cross
We’re not trying to be everything for everyone. Here’s the short version:
- Will: Make bold designs that actually stand out on your bottle, bike, laptop, or truck.
- Will: Test our stuff in Portland weather before we call it “good enough.”
- Will: Use American-made materials whenever we can — and always chase the highest quality, wherever it’s produced.
- Won’t: Chase the cheapest possible vinyl, blanks, or print just to increase margins.
- Won’t: Ship something we already know feels flimsy or looks generic.
The art won’t hit for everybody and that's okay.
But the one thing we refuse to compromise on is this:
Nothing you buy from PDX Decal should ever feel like it sucks!
Have ideas?
Built for real people, not algorithms
I’m not asking the internet what should exist — I’d rather hear it from the people actually using this stuff.
If you’ve got a serious idea, a design you wish existed, or feedback from real-world use, I want to see it.
What we’re looking for:
honest feedback, smart collabs, and ideas that could live on many backpacks, bottles, bumpers, and boards —
not one-off “can you make a single sticker for my cousin’s cat” jobs.
Drop a note on the Contact page with your idea. If it fits the brand and enough people are into it,
there’s a real chance it becomes a future drop.
